UCPLA is currently hiring Shared Direct Care Staff (SDCS) to assist developmentally disabled individuals with daily living needs in a group home residential or Adult Day Program setting. A Shared Direct Care Staff must change and adapt seamlessly to the different paces and levels of intensity in the duties between the group day and residential programs. Under direct supervision of highly qualified professionals, SDCS monitor and support our clients’ needs, both physically and emotionally. Responsibilities

  • Provides direct assistance and care to clients with developmental disabilities
  • Completes recordkeeping and documentation for client plans and activities
  • Ensures general health and safety for clients, staff, and facility
  • Participates in program planning, implementation, and evaluations
  • Oversees daily maintenance and preparation of the facility
  • Assists with program supply-control
  • Attends required in-service trainings

Qualifications

 

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Sufficient reading, writing, comprehension, and communication skills in English to perform essential duties and responsibilities
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Ability to communicate and work professionally and cooperatively with others
  • Ability to successfully pass all employee screening requirements, including criminal background check, physical exam, drug screening, and provide proof of eligibility to work in the United States
  • Ability to run, push, pull, bend, squat, kneel, lift, and transfer clients (with assistance of others and mechanical lift)
