UCPLA is currently hiring Direct Care Staff (DCS) to assist developmentally disabled individuals with daily living needs in a group home residential setting. Under direct supervision of highly qualified professionals, DCS monitor and support our clients’ needs, both physically and emotionally. DCS have the unique opportunity to build a rewarding career in healthcare and develop caring relationships with our clients.

Responsibilities

  • Assists clients with moving in and out of beds, baths, wheelchairs, automobiles, and with eating, dressing and grooming
  • Ensures clients are clean, dry, and all essential adaptive equipment is properly in place (such as arm splints, seat belts, and abdominal binders)
  • Follows the training program as outlined in the client's Individual Service Plan (ISP)
  • Respects and promotes the individual rights of clients including, maintaining the dignity of each person during daily care procedures
  • Provides direct client care and other related duties as assigned by supervisor(s) and/or nursing staff
  • Attends required in-service trainings

Qualifications

 

  • Must be over 18 years of age
  • High School Diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Ability to follow directions, both written and verbal in English, to perform duties
  • Availability to attend required in-service training
  • Ability to work cooperatively with staff in all departments
  • Ability to successfully pass all employee screening requirements, including fingerprint clearance, physical exam, drug screening, and providing proof of eligibility to work in the United States
  • Ability to run, push, pull, bend, squat, kneel, lift, and transfer clients (with assistance of others and mechanical lift)

Rate of Pay: $12.00 per hour
