With 40 programs and service sites spanning several counties, United Cerebral Palsy of Los Angeles, Ventura & Santa Barbara Counties (UCPLA) is the largest nonprofit provider of direct care services for individuals with developmental and intellectual disabilities in Southern California.


The Senior Resident Manager (SRM) reports to the UCPLA Property Manager and directly manages Resident Managers in their assigned region ensuring the timely completion of tasks and projects that sustain assigned properties. The SRM performs general property management operations and performs a variety of residential maintenance of UCPLA properties, which house tenants with developmental disabilities. The SRM interacts with residents, guests, tenant support staff, vendors, and UCPLA staff and management, and addresses Stakeholder concerns. In addition to managing a specific group of properties, the SRM also provides supervision, technical assistance and training to staff engaged in the management of affordable units. The SRM must live on-site and must respond to after-hours calls within his/her region.This position requires supervision over properties in the following locations: Los Angeles, Santa Monica, Culver City, North Hollywood, Carpinteria, and Goleta.


  • Responsible for alerting the Property Manager of any unusual occurrence and/or damage that has taken place or that may occur
  • Works with Management, Regional Center and/or tenant support staff to proactively resolve tenant issues
  • Conducts move-in, move-out, and semi-annual inspections of units
  • Collects rents and submits to UCPLA by the sixth (6th) day of each month and ensures rent is collected and submitted to UCPLA in all supervised buildings.
  • Supervises, schedules, directs, and evaluates assigned personnel, addresses employee concerns and problems, counsels regarding work-related matters, disciplines, and completes employee performance appraisals
  • Manages and coordinates staff and resources to accomplish property goals and objectives
  • Troubleshoots minor maintenance problems
  • Monitors work being performed by outside contractors
  • Carries cellular telephone as required for on-call maintenance and responsible for coordination of on-call staff
  • Completes payroll timesheets and mileage reimbursement and submits to supervisor as required, and reviews and approves payroll timesheets and reimbursements of staff supervised
  • Understands facility fire/disaster procedures and role in emergencies
  • Performs other duties as assigned to meet department and/or business needs


  • High school Diploma or GED
  • Must have reliable means of transportation
  • One (1) to three (3) years building maintenance experience or property management experience
  • Experience working with the developmentally disabled or special needs populations is preferred
  • 6 months of supervisory experience preferred
  • Use of miscellaneous office equipment (e.g., calculators, computers, FAX machines, copiers, etc.)
  • Knowledge of health and safety issues with structures, vehicle operations, and power tools
  • Knowledge of occupational hazards and safety precautions
  • Knowledge of machinery, equipment, tools necessary for maintenance and repair of buildings; ability to work with cleaners, pesticides, and disinfectants
  • Ability to lift up to 25 to 100 pounds occasionally
