Overview

With 40 programs and service sites spanning several counties, United Cerebral Palsy of Los Angeles, Ventura & Santa Barbara Counties (UCPLA) is the largest nonprofit provider of direct care services for individuals with developmental and intellectual disabilities in Southern California.


 UCPLA is hiring an Assistant Administrator II directly responsible to the Administrator or in the Administrator’s absence to the Director of Client Services for the overall management and administration of the facility based on the policies and procedures established and the program plan approved by the Department of Developmental Services. Supports the Administrator and/or the Director of Client Services with coordinating and overseeing the functions of each department. Manages aspects of client accounts and residential budgets and directly oversees staff.

Responsibilities

  • Manages and oversees staff in the homes, including the implementation of and ensuring compliance with all established policies and procedures as well as the program plan approved by the Department of Developmental Services
  • Screens clients for admission in conjunction with QIDP, RN, and the Director of Client Services based on input from the referring Regional Center
  • Acts as a member of the Human Rights Committee to assure client’s rights are understood by all staff
  • Responsible for maintaining a comprehensive understanding of and ensuring employees’ compliance with all Federal, State, and Local regulations including Title 17, Title 22, and ICF/MR Federal regulations
  • Maintains a fiscally sound budget, prepare budgetary reports and staff patterns
  • Oversees the hiring, orientation, and supervision of all residential staff, including maintaining up-to-date personnel records, as well as conducting annual staff performance evaluations
  • Coaches and mentors staff regarding expectations for performance and standards of quality
  • Drives company van on an as-needed basis in support of company business and client programming
  • Performs other duties as assigned to meet department and/or business needs

Qualifications

  • Experience working with persons who have developmental disabilities and or experience in a related field
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Services or Social Sciences preferred
  • Valid California Class C Drivers License
  • Two (2) years’ supervisory experience managing employees preferred
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Ability to communicate and work professionally and cooperatively with others
  • Ability to successfully pass all employee screening requirements, including criminal background check, drug screening, physical exam, and provide proof of eligibility to work in the United States
  • Ability to run, push, pull, bend, squat, kneel, lift, and transfer clients (with assistance of others and mechanical lift)
