Overview

With 40 programs and service sites spanning several counties, United Cerebral Palsy of Los Angeles, Ventura & Santa Barbara Counties (UCPLA) is the largest nonprofit provider of direct care services for individuals with developmental and intellectual disabilities in Southern California.

 

The Donor Relations Coordinator works closely with the Chief Development Officer to implement UCPLA’s individual fundraising efforts. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, extensive use of Raiser’s Edge, assisting with fundraising appeals, coordinating donor cultivation activities, and supporting Senior Management and Board members in all individual donor fundraising activities.

Responsibilities

  • Maintains constituent records in Raiser’s Edge
  • Ensures accuracy of donations including soft-credits, in-kind donations, corporate matching gifts, pledges, and planned gifts
  • Analyzes donor giving patterns to increase donor retention, upgrading, and conversion rates
  • Assists with individual donor stewardship including acknowledgment letters, thank you cards, and donor appreciation gifts
  • Assists with preparation of the annual report and other reports acknowledging donors, and sponsorship tracking
  • Conducts research on donor prospects and other acquisition strategies to expand and retain donor base
  • Assists with drafting, proofreading, editing, and producing support materials for reports; and selects proposals for funders
  • Collaborates on special events
  • Assists in the development of policies and procedures

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Minimum of two years of donor relations experience in a non-profit organization
  • Raiser’s Edge database experience including SQL and MS-SQL
  • Knowledge of Crystal Reports is preferred
  • Proven ability to effectively manage multiple projects with a high degree of accuracy in an environment subject to frequent interruptions
  • Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint with solid computer literacy and skill in using the internet for research
  • Ability to present information concisely and effectively, both verbally and in writing
