Overview

With 40 programs and service sites spanning several counties, United Cerebral Palsy of Los Angeles, Ventura & Santa Barbara Counties (UCPLA) is the largest nonprofit provider of direct care services for individuals with developmental and intellectual disabilities in Southern California.

The Lead House Manager will supervise all House Managers and Direct Support Professional (DSP) throughout our multiple-home setting, and oversee day-to-day operational and administrative responsibilities and activities throughout the facility. Responsible for staff training, development, and scheduling in conjunction with the Administrator and Assistant Administrator. Responsible for ensuring staff coverage is maintained at a 1:3 ratio. Ensures services and facility are in compliance with professional standards, as well as state and federal regulatory requirements.   

Responsibilities

  • Work closely with the Administrator, Qualified Intellectual Disabilities Professional (QIDP), and Nursing Department to assure quality resident care; and to ensure that individualized needs of residents are met
  • Supervise the completion of all assigned work by House Managers and DSP; reassign tasks as workload demands
  • Oversee and supervise active treatment for all residents as identified in each residents’ ISP
  • Ensure all house programs are carried out
  • Provide training to new staff in client rights, support plans, training objectives, personal care, and other pertinent areas
  • Monitor shift report sheets/communication logs and provide follow-up regarding issues noted; monitor DSP charting
  • Assign and monitor meal preparation, cooking, and cleaning at regular intervals in conjunction with the Dietician and Administrator
  • Perform any necessary daily care and programming for residents to supplement staffing coverage and to train and observe staff; operate as a DSP when needed
  • Drive clients to appointments using company van and assist residents out in the community
  • Conduct routine house inspections; report deficiencies to appropriate departments
  • Attend regularly scheduled in-services for a minimum of 36 hours per year; assist with presenting information at in-services as directed by Administrator or Assistant Administrator

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) and/or Nurse Attendant Training Certificate
  • Valid and current California Driver License
  • Ability to communicate and work professionally and cooperatively with others
  • Ability to successfully pass all employee screening requirements, including criminal background check, drug screening, physical exam, and provide proof of eligibility to work in the United States
  • Ability to run, push, pull, bend, squat, kneel, lift, and transfer residents (with assistance of others and mechanical lift)
  • Some experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities is preferred
