Overview

With 40 programs and service sites spanning several counties, United Cerebral Palsy of Los Angeles, Ventura & Santa Barbara Counties (UCPLA) is the largest nonprofit provider of direct care services for individuals with developmental and intellectual disabilities in Southern California.

UCPLA is currently hiring a Property Supervisor who will be responsible for UCPLA fixed assets and ensuring that all UCPLA group homes and accessible apartments are in compliance with the requirements of all applicable regulatory organizations.

Responsibilities

  • Staffs and supervises HUD resident managers and senior resident managers; supervises UCPLA’s employed maintenance staff
  • Assists Property Manager in coordination with UCPLA’s Finance and Operations Teams, to seek, analyze and recommend capital opportunities to increase revenue and reduce expenses
  • Develops and implements UCPLA maintenance standards for HUD properties, in coordination with Property Manager
  • Ensures that vendor repairs and preventative maintenance work meets UCPLA, HUD and licensing standards and that all required repairs and safety testing are completed in a timely manner
  • Assists with evaluating all UCPLA HUD properties and recommends cost-effective maintenance schedules to ensure that all properties meet or exceed industry health/safety standards for developmentally disabled housing
  • Acts as liaison to HUD and property-related vendors
  • Ensures tenants’ complaints and repair requests are appropriately addressed by vendors
  • Works with Property Manager on HUD projects’ projected expenditures to ensure budget request submittals are complete
  • Reviews and approves HUD accounts payable invoices daily
  • Manages UCPLA’s non-HUD building leases (e.g., Day Programs, Corporate Office, etc.); develops and publishes a lease renewal schedule; reviews all lease agreements timely and makes recommendations for improvements
  • Assists with maintaining office equipment and machines; and facilitates maintenance and repairs
  • Performs other duties as assigned to meet department and/or business needs

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a related field is preferred
  • Two to four years of property management is required
  • Ability to travel within the service area, proof of legal right to drive in California, and auto insurance are required
  • Experience with maintenance of HUD subsidized projects is preferred
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office is required
  • Excellent time management skills
  • Experience with fleet management is preferred
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds
