Overview

With 40 programs and service sites spanning several counties, United Cerebral Palsy of Los Angeles, Ventura & Santa Barbara Counties (UCPLA) is the largest nonprofit provider of direct care services for individuals with developmental and intellectual disabilities in Southern California.

 

UCPLA is currently hiring a Property Manager who will be responsible for UCPLA fixed assets and ensuring that all UCPLA group homes and accessible apartments are in compliance with the requirements of all applicable regulatory organizations. 

Responsibilities

  • Staffs and supervises HUD resident managers and senior resident managers; communicates manager schedules and on-call schedules to tenants and UCPLA’s CLS and management staff
  • Acts as principal liaison to HUD and property-related vendors
  • Manages UCPLA’s non-HUD building leases (e.g., Day Programs, Corporate Office, etc.); develops and publishes a lease renewal schedule; reviews all lease agreements timely and makes recommendations for improvements
  • Evaluates all UCPLA HUD properties and recommends cost-effective maintenance schedules to ensure that all properties meet or exceed industry health/safety standards for developmentally disabled housing
  • Ensures tenants’ complaints and repair requests are appropriately addressed by vendors
  • Manages UCPLA’s employed maintenance staff; manages UCPLA’s fleet including invoice approvals, tracking repair histories, ensuring required maintenance, recommending repair vs. replacement, etc.
  • Manages UCPLA’s non-HUD building leases (e.g., Day Programs, Corporate Office, etc.); develops and publishes a lease renewal schedule; reviews all lease agreements timely and makes recommendations for improvements
  • Manages work with UCPLA’s IT vendor and Finance Department to manage internet, wired and mobile communication devices, printers, etc.; develops and publishes clear lines of responsibility and authority
  • Ensures timely submission of required housing compliance monitoring reports to various organizations as per existing regulatory agreements; reviews and approves HUD accounts payable invoices daily
  • Performs other duties as assigned to meet department and/or business needs

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a related field is preferred
  • Three to five years of property management is required
  • Ability to travel within the service area, proof of legal right to drive in California, and auto insurance are required
  • Experience with fleet management is preferred
  • Experience with maintenance of HUD subsidized projects is preferred
  • Excellent communications skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and manage shifting priorities; strong planning, time management and organizational skills; ability to meet established deadlines
