With 40 programs and service sites spanning several counties, United Cerebral Palsy of Los Angeles, Ventura & Santa Barbara Counties (UCPLA) is the largest nonprofit provider of direct care services for individuals with developmental and intellectual disabilities in Southern California.


UCPLA is hiring a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker, Licensed Psychologist, or a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist for this newly-created position to champion the vision that all persons shall be included as participating members in their communities and in employment, regardless of the severity of their disability. The Program Director will provide leadership and oversight to a multidiscipline, licensed or certificated, professional staff, ensuring program participants’ individual needs are prioritized, effectively met, and funded. 


  • Develops and maintains a working knowledge of all available services and resources available within UCPLA and the community; works closely with the Director of Client Services to implement and grow services
  • Directs and/or delegates the assignment of staff, monitoring of daily and weekly schedules, and the matching of clinician qualifications to individual’s needs
  • Coordinates, schedules, and monitors service delivery for Licensed Psychiatric Technicians and other staff serving individuals; provides training and mentoring to staff
  • Conducts assessments and mental health status reviews, and evaluates levels of mental health for individuals requesting this service; ensures clinicians perform accurate and complete assessments
  • Works with the individual and their planning team to develop goals; directs specialized therapeutic services to maximize goals
  • Facilitates, leads, and actively creates customized employment opportunities for individuals served 
  • Recommends treatment/rehabilitative activities; facilitates intervention plans; enhances continuity of services
  • Ensures the program is in substantial compliance with all applicable contractual and qualitative standards
  • Manages the records documentation process in Therap and other documentation systems to ensure that the individual’s clinical record meets legal and regulatory requirements
  • Facilitates and designs group psychotherapy sessions; facilitates and leads bi-weekly to monthly team meetings and staff trainings; attends planning meetings; facilitates person-centered planning sessions, and prepares reports; participates in the development and design of staff trainings, program documentation, and service design changes as directed by the Director of Client Services
  • Oversees program evaluation processes and completion of annual program evaluation report
  • Ensures timely/accurate billing, authorizations, payroll and records processes to ensure efficient scheduling and excellent service delivery; monitors expenditures and adherence to UCPLA policies through the implementation of controls
  • Drives personal or company vehicle as required to conduct program business and/or transport individuals being served in accordance with their Individual Program Plan (IPP)
  • Provides direct service
  • Performs all duties inherent in a managerial role; knows, follows, and upholds UCPLA’s policies and procedures
  • Performs other duties as assigned to meet department and/or business needs



  • Master's degree in one of the behavioral sciences or related fields from an accredited college or university, and completion of supervised experience hours necessary for licensure
  • Achieves and maintains certification as a Customized Employment Support Professional
  • Three years of experience working with individuals with intellectual or developmental disabilities
  • Three to five years of supervisory experience
  • Experience with or knowledge of California’s Employment First Policy
  • Must pass all post-offer, pre-employment screening requirements, including criminal background check, drug screening, physical exam, and provide proof of eligibility to work in the United States
  • Current and ongoing proof of legal right to drive in California and proof of auto insurance
