    Schedule Available: Monday through Friday, 8:30 AM - 4:00 PM


    With 40 programs and service sites spanning several counties, United Cerebral Palsy of Los Angeles, Ventura & Santa Barbara Counties (UCPLA) is the largest nonprofit provider of direct care services for individuals with developmental and intellectual disabilities in Southern California.


    UCPLA is currently hiring a Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) to care for individuals with developmental disabilities in our Adult Day Program. Working collaboratively with the Program Manager, Director of Client Services, and Director of Health Services, this LVN will approach each client holistically to identify their health care needs and promote optimal level of functionality.


    • Educates, trains, and monitors all unlicensed staff in administering oral medications, gastronomy tube feedings, as well as various treatments
    • Provides training and education in personal hygiene, psychosocial skills, and other health care issues
    • Actively participates in beginning of the day program/client needs assessment; works with Assistant Manager and staff in checking clients as they report to the Day Program
    • Passes medications and monitors/reports client health; performs treatments such as oxygen, eye drops, topical ointments, nebulizer, etc.
    • Maintains medication books, physician orders, and client files in current and orderly manner; audits medication/treatment documentation weekly
    • Maintains emergency equipment such as portable oxygen, suction machines, etc., in proper working order
    • Follows all established UCPLA policies and procedures as well as all Title 22 Regulations and Health Care Conditions of Community Care Facilities
    • Participates in active programming for clients when immediate nursing supports are not necessary
    • Ensures feeding plans are followed
    • Performs basic and vital assessments and implements care plans
    • Processes monthly cycle medications
    • Performs other duties as assigned to meet department and/or business needs


    • Graduate of an approved school of vocational nursing
    • Must be licensed by the California State Board of Vocational Nursing and Psychiatric Technicians
    • At least 6 months' work experience as an LVN
    • Experience in the care and treatment of individuals with developmental disabilities preferred
    • Ability to maintain confidentiality
    • Ability to communicate and work professionally and cooperatively with others
    • Ability to successfully pass all post offer, pre-employment screening requirements, including criminal background check, drug screening, physical exam, and provide proof of eligibility to work in the United States
    • Ability to run, push, pull, bend, squat, kneel, lift, and transfer clients (with assistance of others and mechanical lift)
