    Schedule Available: Sunday - Wednesday, 6:30AM - 3:00PM


    With 40 programs and service sites spanning several counties, United Cerebral Palsy of Los Angeles, Ventura & Santa Barbara Counties (UCPLA) is the largest nonprofit provider of direct care services for individuals with developmental and intellectual disabilities in Southern California.


    UCPLA is currently hiring a Shared Direct Support Professional (SDSP) to assist developmentally disabled individuals with daily living needs in a group home residential or Adult Day Program setting. A Shared Direct Support Professional must change and adapt seamlessly to the different paces and levels of intensity in the duties between the group day and residential programs. Under direct supervision of highly qualified professionals, SDSPs monitor and support our clients’ needs, both physically and emotionally. SDSPs have the unique opportunity to build rewarding careers in healthcare and develop caring relationships with our clients.


    • Provides direct assistance and care to clients with developmental disabilities
    • Completes recordkeeping and documentation for client plans and activities
    • Ensures general health and safety for clients, staff, and facility
    • Participates in program planning, implementation, and evaluations
    • Oversees daily maintenance and preparation of the facility
    • Assists with program supply-control
    • Attends required in-service trainings
    • Follows company policies at all times regarding the safe and proper lift and transfer of individuals
    • Performs other duties as assigned to meet department and/or business needs


    • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
    • Sufficient reading, writing, comprehension, and communication skills in English to perform essential duties and responsibilities
    • Ability to maintain confidentiality
    • Ability to communicate and work professionally and cooperatively with others
    • Ability to successfully pass all post offer, pre-employment screening requirements, including criminal background check, drug screening, physical exam, and provide proof of eligibility to work in the United States
    • Ability to run, push, pull, bend, squat, kneel, and lift up to fifty (50) pounds
